The basics of Investing in Bonds

There are many of us out there who wonder about the countless investment possibilities that are available to us. Most of us equate "investing" with purchasing stocks or stock-mutual funds, the problem with this mentality is the unnessecary risk you put your portfolio through due to market volatility.

So, how can you mitigate the volatility of your portfolio? Have you considered Bonds? No? It's possible that you haven't considered bonds for many reasons, including the simple fact that you may not understand how they work. When I asked a friend about his understanding of bonds he responded that he had little to no idea of how they work or the benefit of including them in his investment portfolio.
